Review of processes, case note tracking and data collection methods to enable better demand management, forecasting and workflow planning within 6 departments: Medical Records, Audiology, Medical Secretariat, Pharmacy, Pathology and Radiology
What we did
We reviewed processes within each of the services and mapped these against the most common patient pathways to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies and skills gaps. We then worked with staff to design improvements to smooth demand and increase service capacity.
Our support enabled C&H NHSFT to implement improvements to list scheduling, outpatient’s appointments DNA’s, equipment utilisation and case note availability. C&H NHSFT went on to receive the HSJ Best Acute Hospital award in 2010.
