Successful development of an engagement plan required to understand and remove obstacles to use of a national framework agreement for the supply of temporary agency nursing staff at NHS Trusts.
What we did
We designed and ran a series of workshops for procurement staff from across the regions health provider community. We ran a series of interactive discussion sessions to understand the reasons why staff were reluctant to use frameworks and the feedback and findings obtained formed the basis of follow-up workshops designed to address their concerns and improve contract uptake.
The project included extensive research and analysis of existing spend and supplier capability and capacity. Suppliers were invited to attend workshops where they were able to demonstrate their capability, interact with procurement staff and build relationships. An intervention and communication strategy was developed and recommendations made to enable full contract compliance within a twelve month period.
